Speeding Up Supply: A London Firm’s Mexican Manufacturing Solution

A London based firm and producer of plush products, particularly custom armrest pillows for the US market approached us about manufacturing in Mexico due to long lead times from India. We located several sold pillow and other textile suppliers with US export experience. Initial rounds of bidding from a solid supplier in Mexico City metropolitan area came back just above client target pricing. After a few rounds of negotiation and client commitments to minimum orders, target pricing was within the client’s range. The client was able to primarily save on long lead times from India and develop a nimbler supply chain. We subsequently connected the client with logistics partners in Texas, which allowed them to establish a more strategic warehousing operation than their previous warehousing strategy in Nevada.
